Masala Chai (Masala Tea) recipe—spicy, aromatic, and comforting:

🌿 Ingredients (for 2 cups):

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk (whole or your preferred type)
  • 2 tsp black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags – Assam works best)
  • 2–3 tsp sugar (adjust to taste)

Masala (Spice Blend):

  • 4–5 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 4–5 whole black peppercorns
  • 1 small piece cinnamon stick
  • 1–2 cloves
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger (sliced or crushed)
  • (Optional: a pinch of fennel seeds or nutmeg)

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Boil the Spices:
    • In a saucepan, add water and all the spices.
    • Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to extract flavors.
  2. Add Tea:
    • Add the tea leaves (or tea bags) to the spiced water.
    • Simmer for another 2–3 minutes (longer for stronger tea).
  3. Add Milk & Sugar:
    • Pour in the milk and add sugar.
    • Let the tea come to a gentle boil (watch it so it doesn’t spill).
    • Simmer for 2 more minutes.
  4. Strain & Serve:
    • Strain the tea into cups.

Boil 1 cup water with ½ tsp grated ginger, 2 cloves, 2 cardamoms, a pinch of cinnamon & a star anise.

Add 1 tsp loose tea and boil 2 mins.
