Masala Chai (Masala Tea) recipe—spicy, aromatic, and comforting:
🌿 Ingredients (for 2 cups):
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup milk (whole or your preferred type)
- 2 tsp black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags – Assam works best)
- 2–3 tsp sugar (adjust to taste)
Masala (Spice Blend):
- 4–5 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 4–5 whole black peppercorns
- 1 small piece cinnamon stick
- 1–2 cloves
- 1 small piece fresh ginger (sliced or crushed)
- (Optional: a pinch of fennel seeds or nutmeg)
🔥 Instructions:
- Boil the Spices:
- In a saucepan, add water and all the spices.
- Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to extract flavors.
- Add Tea:
- Add the tea leaves (or tea bags) to the spiced water.
- Simmer for another 2–3 minutes (longer for stronger tea).
- Add Milk & Sugar:
- Pour in the milk and add sugar.
- Let the tea come to a gentle boil (watch it so it doesn’t spill).
- Simmer for 2 more minutes.
- Strain & Serve:

Add 1 tsp loose tea and boil 2 mins.
Add ½ cup milk and 1–2 tsp sugar. Simmer.
