Letitia James has been a polarizing figure, gaining national attention due to her long-standing disputes with former President Donald Trump, particularly her efforts to financially undermine him in civil court. Following the 2024 election, she has threatened legal action against Trump and has faced backlash from his supporters for her perceived political bias.
On March 24, 2025, a post on X revealed details about Letitia James’ extravagant spending. The post stated, “Hello @NewYorkStateAG Letitia James — Since you’re so concerned about taxpayer expenditures, could you clarify this? 🚨 INVESTIGATION: NY Attorney General Letitia James charged taxpayers $41,807 for private jet travel — and the public records raise significant concerns.” The post went on to outline troubling aspects of James’ private flights, noting, “Over a 13-month period: ❌ $41K in flights without contracts, flight manifests, or justification ❌ Vendor not utilized by any other NY State agency ❌ Flight dates coincide with campaign events ❌ No reimbursements submitted — yet her campaign later compensated the same vendor ❌ See below: payment dates, amounts, and the events they correspond with.” In response to this post, conservative commentators expressed outrage over the apparent corruption. One comment urged other prominent New York Democrats to denounce the misconduct, stating, “Why hasn’t @KathyHochul compelled @TishJames to comply with a FOIA request? Tish isn’t above the law.
