At two in the morning local time, the catastrophe occurred.
The roof of a crowded nightclub collapsed, killing at least 100 people.
Numerous additional people have been hurt in the event, which happened inside the Jet Set Club in the Dominican Republic.
According to reports, survivors are “communicating” from within the debris.
The incident happened at around 7 a.m. BST, or 2 a.m. local time.
The band’s saxophone was reported dead in the incident by local media.
Since the occurrence, numerous recordings of the startling moment have been widely shared on social media.
at one video, people at the club were seen fleeing the dance floor with anxious expressions on their faces as they gazed up at the roof, demonstrating how certain areas of the roof were obviously causing them anxiety.
“All relief agencies have provided the necessary assistance and are working tirelessly in the rescue efforts. Our prayers are with the affected families.”
According to local news site El Dia, the Civil Defense team sent about 30 rescuers, eight fire trucks, and about 77 ambulances to the location.
The survivors were also rescued by about 50 soldiers and 200 members of the National Police force.
Eight hospitals are on red alert, and survivors are being treated in the Cuban, Royal, Modern, and UCE medical centers.
Survivors are still being sought.
