Major Democrat Donor Arrested on Awful Charges

In a striking example of leftist hypocrisy, a well-known trial lawyer from Texas and significant Democratic contributor has been charged with a misdemeanor following an assault on a family member, which resulted in a call to the Houston police and his subsequent incarceration.

To provide context, Eric Dick, a lawyer based in Houston and a trustee on the Harris County Department of Education board, was arrested on March 7 after allegedly striking a family member, later identified as his wife. However, limited information has been disclosed regarding the specifics of the assault and the injuries inflicted by Mr. Dick. Furthermore, Mr. Dick’s political affiliations have raised eyebrows, as he serves as a Republican while having contributed $30,750 to support Democrats in the upcoming 2024 election, including a notable $25,000 donation to the Community Justice PAC, which aims to elect Democratic judicial candidates.

A spokesperson for the Houston Police Department provided additional details about Mr. Dick’s arrest, stating, “At approximately 5:40 a.m. on March 7, a 39-year-old female reported that she had an argument with him, during which she was pushed to the ground and punched. He subsequently locked himself in the bathroom. We were able to persuade him to come out, and he informed the officer that they had both been arguing, after which he was taken into custody.”

In light of the incident, Mr. Dick issued a public apology via email to The Houston Landing, stating, “I love [the alleged victim] with all of my heart and am sorry for any embarrassment I caused her,” and he was released without the need to post bail.

In a separate email to Houston Public Media, Dick expressed further regret regarding the situation, stating, “I deeply regret any embarrassment I may have caused [my wife]. Marriage is challenging, and I recognize that being married to a workaholic lawyer can be particularly difficult. [My wife] is, and will always be, the love of my life.”Furthermore, Mr. Dick is presently facing legal examination following the submission of a court affidavit purportedly signed by an individual who has been deceased for ten months. In reaction to this situation, one of Mr. Dick’s associates informed the media that it was a matter of “mistaken identity,” clarifying that the actual signer was the deceased man’s son, who has the same name. At this time, Mr. Dick’s law firm has not officially addressed a show cause order that was submitted on February 18, 2025, in connection with the affidavit.
